Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel presents Peças Frias – O Desenho, a new exhibition by Iran do Espírito Santo at its Jardins venue in São Paulo, opening on June 30, 2026. The show  brings together a concise selection of works, ranging from drawings to sculptures, that convey a decisive view of key moments in the artist’s production over the past two decades. Ranging from 2007 to 2025, the presentation highlights the resonances of empty space, a restrained color palette, and rigorous geometries that underscore the continuity and evolution of the artist’s practice.

Among the highlights is the wall painting Untitled (Alambrado) (2007), originally conceived for the central presentation of the 52nd Venice Biennale. Also on view in Brazil for the first time, Linha e Sombra 4 (2013), was first developed for a project at Ingleby Gallery and revisited by the artist for this occasion. The new sculpture Compasso (2025), a scaled-up stainless steel rendering of a drafting compass, establishes a clear relationship with the mechanics of and the act of drawing, and the intellectual and conceptual dimensions of Espirito Santo’s formal construction.

Through a visual language defined by geometric rigor, technical precision, and economy of means, the artist investigates the mechanisms of representation and the boundaries between object, image, and perception. His works approach familiar forms through paradox: while they appear to describe reality with remarkable fidelity, they ultimately reveal themselves as artificial constructions, simulacra that continually shift the viewer’s experience between presence and representation.

In parallel, Iran do Espírito Santo: Recorrência, a new survey exhibition curated by Fernanda Lopes, is on view at Instituto Figueiredo Ferraz, in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, starting July 2nd, 2026.
