Simon Evans™

Simon Evans: London, UK, 1972
Sarah Lannan: Phoenix, USA, 1984

Simon Evans™ is the artistic collaboration between Simon Evans and Sarah Lannan. The artists create dense collages based on excerpts of texts, saturated with short phrases, instructions and fictional slogans. At the intersection between verbal language and pictorial composition, their works present a renewed emphasis on the incessant flux of contemporary watchwords, composing a web of meaning whose associations the spectator investigates, combining fragments of a text that remains enigmatic.

Some of the artists’ solo exhibitions include
Shopping Chão, Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel, São Paulo, Brazil (2018); Not Not Knocking on Heaven’s Door, Palais de Tokyo, Paris, France (2016); Interior Design, Galeria Fortes Vilaça, São Paulo, Brazil (2015) and Only Words Eaten By Experience, Museum of Contemporary Art, Cleveland, USA (2013). They have also participated in the group shows Pulse, Carpintaria, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; No abrá nunca una puerta. Estás adentro. Obras de la colección Texeira de Freitas, Sala de Arte Santander, Madrid, Spain (2019) e Mundo Vasto Mundo, Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel, São Paulo, Brazil (2018).
